Imerja delivers major LAN upgrade to support the delivery of new applications and critical services across the Trust, and to provide greater resilience

 

An existing provider of infrastructure support and managed services to Chelsea & Westminster Healthcare NHS Trust, Imerja was appointed to implement an important LAN upgrade to support the delivery of new applications and provide greater resilience across the network.

In line with meeting the national agenda for modernisation within the NHS, the Trust needed to deliver an increasing number of applications across the organisation, whilst ensuring high service levels are maintained for its users at all times. Lacking the capacity to deliver new applications, the network needed to be upgraded to provide more host connections for servers and other infrastructure devices.

With an Extreme based LAN already in place, the upgrade included the addition of two Extreme Black Diamond Aspen chassis in the core providing a significant increase in capacity and a greater level of resilience. The network will pave the way for additional planned upgrades, enabling the future development of critical services across the Trust.
