We are currently looking to recruit a new member within our 24x7 ISOC (Imerja Secure Operations Centre). The role will be situated in either our Bolton or Elstree office.
The ISOC Support Engineer provides first line support and ensures the smooth operation of network monitoring and management services. The ISOC Support Engineer role is seen as the first stage for a progression into a broader career in IT network infrastructure and/or IT security. It will be a required part of the role to study for and pass agreed vendor accreditation and other recognised technical certifications in order to develop technical capability.
The role involves out of hours working to an agreed shift pattern, inclusding Public and Bank Holidays, and may require additional working to agreed overtime rates. Shift work will allow for periods of ‘self study’ which will be used to achieve technical certification against an agreed training roadmap.
Candidates must have at least one year's experience providing security solutions in a technical support role to a high technical level or have graduated in an element of IT. Candidates should also be familiar with the primary functions of networking equipment, i.e. Routers, Switches, Firewalls and wide area communications and preferably have an awareness of some of the following vendor products; Check Point, Juniper, Cisco, Extreme, Exinda.
